No. The kits are educational and organizational. They help you gather and track records. Your tax preparer, or the IRS instructions, decide what you can claim.

No. Some sheets add up what you enter (for example, total expenses or business miles). They don't figure deductions, self-employment tax or estimated payments.

IRS publications, forms and instructions. Each kit has a sources page with links and the date we checked them. Anything taken from a draft IRS form is labeled DRAFT.

A tax preparer reviews each kit before it's released.

No. We cite IRS materials as public sources only.

We recommend you don't type full Social Security numbers, account numbers or passwords into any kit, especially if you store it in the cloud. The kits are designed to track that you have a document, not to hold the sensitive numbers on it.
